Friday's Areco Malmö Padel Open 2022 quarter-finals saw the recently-formed couple of Delfi Brea and Marta Marrero get their way through in dominant fashion.
The seven-seed for this tournament lost their first match together last time out in Menorca, but seemed to have hit their stride at the Malmö Arena.
Currently in 18th place with just Malmö and the Mexico Open to go before the Master Final, Brea could still qualify for December's Estrella Damm Master Final 2022.

First at centre court were 2021's number ones Alejandra Salazar and Gemma Triay, who played this season's break-out couple Barbara Las Heras and Veronica Virseda.

Josemaria/Sanchez (1) vs Alayeto/Alayeto (8)
The new number ones Paula Josemaria and Ariana Sanchez looked to make another semi-final, but faced tough rivals in Mapi and Majo Sánchez Alayeto.

Brea/Marrero (7) vs Collombon/Castello
On court 2, Delfi Brea and Marta Marrero kicked the matchday off against underdogs Alix Collombon and Jessica Castello, who both aimed to make their first-ever semi-final in an Open.

Finally, Marta Ortega and Bea Gonzalez wanted to make their fourth consecutive semi-final, but had to get past Aranza Osoro and Victoria Iglesias first.
