Women's qualifying for the inaugural Human French Padel Open 2022 concluded on Tuesday, with one pair all the way from pre-qualifying making it through to qualify for the main draw.France is the 15th different country to host an Open or Master in World Padel Tour, having hosted three Challengers in years past.Here is what happened in the four qualifying finals at the Club4Padel in Toulouse!Martínez/Soriano vs Caparrós/TraviesaThe first ticket to the main draw was battled out between Ara Martínez and Arantxa Soriano and on the other side Nicole Traviesa and Marta Caparrós.Despite being a new partnership, Caparrós and Traviesa were the ones who took the lead in the first set, winning 2-6.Martínez and Soriano responded and then some, winning the second set by 6-3 to force a third and final set.In that third set, Martínez and Soriano kept up their momentum and won by 6-4, making the main draw once more and facing Giulia Sussarello and Anna Cortilés on Wednesday.Borrero/Alonso vs Pérez/VanoNext were pre-qualifying pairing Marta Borrero and Alejandra Alonso, who looked to go all the way against qualifying three-seed Lucía Pérez and Lorena Vano.Despite having many games in their legs, Borrero and Alonso were in great form from start to finish. They stampeded through the first set by 6-2, and followed it up in the second set by winning 6-3.The pre-qualifying duo are through to the main draw, where they will face Cecilia Reiter and Julia Polo.Piltcher/Pujals vs Blanco/RuizThird on the menu were qualifying eight-seed Alicia Blanco and Sara Ruiz , in action against four-seed Raquel Piltcher and Sara Pujals.Blanco and Ruiz were massively on top in the first set, breaking twice and winning by 2-6.In the second set, things turned around for the Brazilian Piltcher and Spanish Pujals, who broke at 5-5 to win 7-5 and force a third set.As if they had dealt a big mental blow, Piltcher and Pujals were much the better partnership, and completed the comeback to win 6-3. They will take on wild cards Invernon Elodie and Charlotte Soubrié.Pappacena/Clascá vs Vivancos/PascualFinally, Italian Chiara Pappacena and Xenia Clascá took on Nuria Vivancos and veteran Lourdes Pascual.Another three-set affair, Clascá and Pappacena took home the opening set, winning it by a single break 6-4.Responding in style, Vivancos and Pascual wanted to stay alive and did so by winning 2-6 in the second, but were then swept 6-0 in the final set by Pappacena and Clascá.
