The most seen film of the year was played again for everyone to watch. With 4500 seats available the location was the Palacio de los Deportes de Granada and the film, Fernando Belasteguín - Pablo Lima versus Paquito Navarro - Sanyo Gutiérrez.
The tiebreak decided the first set
It was the typical start to a match between two pairings that know each other perfectly, as they tested themselves in the first four games, which ended 2-2. From then on, the match turned on its head and the spectacle grew increasingly. The first break was for Bela and Lima in the fifth game and Paquito and Sanyo broke back to make it 3-3. The number one seeds broke again and held their serve to make it 5-3. But Ramiro Choya's men were in no mood to let it slip away and they broke to love after an impressive game to get back in it. At 6-5, Bela and Lima saved a set point and forced a tiebreak, where they came out on top to win the first set.
Sailing away to the title
A blip in concentration from Navarro and Gutierrez allowed ther world's best pairing to shred them apart. Paquito and Sanyo weren't comfortable from the start and they ended up paying the price. After the Argentine/Brazilian duo's first break, they connected shot after shot, and before they knew it, the number two seeds had lost 6-1. Fernando Belasteguin and Pablo Lima win the Granada Open 2017 after getting through a tough tournament in which they were made to suffer round after round.
