Another semifinal for Lebrón and Galán

The next men's quarterfinal in Barcelona was an intriguing matchup. With the number two and three pairs in the world rankings knocked out of the tournament, the world number ones, Juan Lebrón and Alejandro Galán, were looking to ensure they didn't go the same way at the Palau Sant Jordi. Their opponents, the in-form winners of the Sardinia Open: Franco Stupaczuk and Álex Ruiz.

The match lived up to expectations. You could feel the tension as the opening games were decided by golden points. By game twelve, it was all square and in a tiebreak, Stupa and Ruiz took the first set.

The world number ones weren't slow to react. An early break went the way of Galán and Lebrón in set two, which went their way throughout. In the tenth game, they closed the set 6-4, with that break being enough.

Once again, the third set would be decisive. In game five, Ale and Juan broke to take the lead. From that strong position, they went on to take the set 6-4. Another semifinal for Juan Lebrón and Alejandro Galán.
