Alicante will include new women's pairings

The women return to action at the upcoming Estrella Damm Alicante Opem and there will be numerous new pairings at the top end of the rankings. As well as Victoria Iglesias and Teresa Navarro, who will enter as the number eight seeds, we take a look at the other pairings that will make their debuts at the Club de Campo de Alicante and who are looking to make a final push in 2017.

Marta Talaván and Carla Mesa join forces to take on the rest of the season. Talavan (Madrid, 1995) ends her spell with Angela Caro, who she had reached the last 16 with twice this season. Mesa (Tenerife, 1991) faces a new challenge in a season where she has already made quarter final appearances. She managed it at the Estrella Damm Barcelona Master with her first partner of the year, Lucia Martinez, and at the Valladolid Open with Maite Gabarrús.

The number 18 player on the World Padel Tour, Lucía Martínez has also seeked youth to face the final stage of the season. Her new partner on the backhand court will be Tamara Icardo (Valencia, 1995) who she will try and break into the top ten with. Martínez (Granada, 1991) registered her best result of the season by reaching the quarter finals at the Estrella Damm Barcelona Master with her partner Carla Mesa.

Youth will also line up with Nela Brito for the final stretch of the season which kicks off at the Estrella Damm Alicante Open. The Argentine (Lomas de Zamora, 1979) will play with one of the young promises of the game, Bea GonzálezThe youngest player on tourh as put an end to her spell with Elena Ramírez to try and continue climbing the rankings, where she is placed 35th. Alicante will be their first stop as a pairing.

Marta Talavan's partner until the Cerveza Victoria Mijas - Costa del Sol Open, Ángela Caroalso starts a new stage with Nuria Rodríguez (Sanlúcar de Barrameda, 1994). Ranked 27th and 30th, they will try and gel together in the next couple of tournaments to try and improve on their results so far this season.
