He is only 19 years old and in 2019 he entered through the big door in the elite of the world padel. The Argentine Agustín Tapia has become one of the references of World Padel Tour thanks to a season in which he has lived everything: good moments, others not so good and moments that neither he nor the fans will ever forget.
Tapia started the course with the legendary player from Mar del Plata, Juan Martín Díaz. A pair that promised spectacle and above all, fights with the best rackets in the world for a position at the top of the ranking. But after some first tournaments in which Agus could already leave flashes of the enormous talent that he treasures, an injury of Juan Martín forced the couple to separate. Then, he would play the following tournaments with other players such as Jordi Muñoz or Nacho Gadea. With the latter, he was going to sign a semis in Valencia after eliminating nothing more and nothing less than the first in the ranking at that time, Maxi and Sanyo.
But his real moment came with the long-term project that would form with Fernando Belasteguín. With Bela he started his adventure in Mijas, and only one tournament later, in the Estrella Damm Madrid Master, Tapia raised his first professional title. A triumph that boosted even more the growth and progression of one of the leading players of the last section of the season. Protagonist in the best plays, in the best points, Agustín Tapia signed from that moment about eighths, four semifinals and the final of the Estrella Damm Master Final. Data and numbers awarded by the Elías Estrella Trophy to the 2019 Revelation Player.
