The favourites on paper took the initial lead with a break in the third game. Galan's power and Mati Diaz's control was doing the trick and they built on their advantage to win 6-4 in under 45 minutes.Botello and Ruiz weren't undermined and played their usual solid game to go 3-1 up. They even had the chance to seal the set at 5-3 on serve but the warrior, Matias Diaz, rallied back and broke at the eleventh hour. The set headed into a tiebreak, and again Ruiz and Botello had two set points, but Diaz and Galan showed that not many pairings in the world have their defensive capabilities as they won 7-6 after two hours.
