The men's quarterfinals of the Vallbanc Andorra La Vella Open 2018 got underway with Matías Díaz and Alejandro Galán versus Uri Botello and Javier Ruiz. The favourites on paper took the initial lead with a break in the third game. Galan's power and Mati Diaz's control was doing the trick and they built on their advantage to win 6-4 in under 45 minutes.
Botello and Ruiz weren't undermined and played their usual solid game to go 3-1 up. They even had the chance to seal the set at 5-3 on serve but the warrior, Matias Diaz, rallied back and broke at the eleventh hour. The set headed into a tiebreak, and again Ruiz and Botello had two set points, but Diaz and Galan showed that not many pairings in the world have their defensive capabilities as they won 7-6 after two hours.
